Shake Shack Burgers Take Flight on Delta Airlines-1

Delta Air Lines® is taking in-flight dining to the next level with its latest partnership. Travelers flying first class out of Boston now have the chance to savor iconic Shake Shack® cheeseburgers at 30,000 feet. The move is part of Delta's broader initiative to enhance its culinary offerings and provide passengers with a more enjoyable and memorable travel experience.

Shake Shack Cheeseburgers Take Flight

Shake Shack's cheeseburgers are the centerpiece of this collaboration. Featuring a 100% Angus beef patty, cheese, and a toasted potato bun, the burger offers premium ingredients for a high-quality meal. Passengers can customize their burgers with toppings like lettuce, tomato, and the famous ShackSauce™, all served on the side.

The burger comes as part of a meal that includes potato chips, a Caesar salad, and a dark chocolate brownie. While the cheeseburger may not be the most health-conscious option, Delta is betting that the comfort and familiarity of Shake Shack's burgers will win over passengers looking for a satisfying dining experience in the air.

Expanding Menu Options

This partnership with Shake Shack complements Delta's ongoing efforts to improve its in-flight menu. The airline has already introduced a range of chef-curated dishes across its Delta One, First Class, and Delta Premium Select cabins. Recent additions include cocoa-braised short ribs, butternut squash ravioli, and a variety of salads and snacks. Delta aims to provide meals that are both delicious and practical for in-flight consumption.

Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta's senior vice president of in-flight service, explains that the airline's culinary teams strive to deliver "familiar and comforting foods with a sophisticated twist," as reported by Forbes. The addition of Shake Shack fits seamlessly into this mission, offering passengers a beloved comfort food that's elevated by the brand's commitment to quality ingredients.

How to Get Your Shake Shack Fix

The Shake Shack cheeseburger is exclusively available to First Class passengers on flights over 900 miles. Customers must pre-select the burger as their meal option through the Fly Delta app or via email, starting seven days before departure and up to 24 hours before takeoff. This ensures the burger is served fresh and hot during the flight.

For now, the program is limited to flights out of Boston, but Delta plans to expand the offering to other U.S. markets throughout 2025. The collaboration builds on Delta's existing relationship with Union Square Hospitality Group, the parent company of Shake Shack.

A Recipe for Success

Delta and Shake Shack's partnership has generated excitement among travelers and food enthusiasts alike. Michael Kark, Shake Shack's president of global licensing, says the collaboration is an opportunity to "take our beloved cheeseburger to new heights," as reported by Forbes. Delta's Stephanie Laster echoes the sentiment, noting that burgers are consistently one of the airline's most popular menu items.

As the program expands, passengers can look forward to more chances to indulge in Shake Shack's signature flavors during their travels. Whether you're a longtime fan of the burger chain or trying it for the first time, Delta's new in-flight menu promises a delicious start — or end — to your journey.
